The anniversary of your death comes up again on the 10th December, acting as a trigger for our memories of you and of our loss. It's been 14 years since you died and although the grief we feel is less acute it remains a constant in our lives. Grief is part of keeping you in mind, of memory, and perhaps learning to live with loss is a part of living. Our collective remembering of you on the 10th particularly brings you back and we celebrate your life and share memories , laugh and cry together

To my dear mum, you fought your several illnesses to the bitter end. You never gave up, until your tired and weary body could fight no more. To my dear daddy, you were taken far too soon from us, I have missed the years I have not had you just as much as missing the 9 years I had you. To my dear grandparents, you were the same haven that was always there to come to for great baking and all those lovely cakes we baked together. And to my dear uncle, you were a rock which pulled the family together. I love and remember you always.

My brother - Peter Lindsay Hemmens

He died on 22nd Feb, quite suddenly (aged 76). He was widowed in his early 40's and brought up his two sons on his own. Lately he lived in Sleaford, Lincs. He used to ring me every other Monday on the dot at 8pm for a chat and we used to reminisce about when we were kids - he'd remember things I'd forgotten and vice-versa! Every Christmas he'd send me flowers and a huge box of chocolates. He really looked out for me and I will miss his voice and his beautiful handwriting! Val x

It's been over 50 years now. A long journey with bumps, now joy. My support for Winston's Wish - hope it helps you to keep today's young going in our modern world. It is difficult to deal with death amongst your close family and even more difficult when the death is due to suicide. My father, my younger sister and my niece took their own lives in very different circumstances.
